- Session length and protocol
- Each session may last up to 30 minutes. NeuroLinks offers theta-burst stimulation, which can reduce the stimulation portion of selected TMS sessions to as little as three minutes. The complete appointment may take longer.
- Psychiatrist oversight
- A NeuroLinks psychiatrist oversees treatment planning, clinical progress, tolerability and safety throughout the course.
- Before each session
- When you arrive, our technician will check in with you to see if you have any special concerns.
- Treatment intensity and position
- Stimulation intensity is established through motor-threshold assessment, and the treatment position is determined through brain mapping. These may be reassessed when clinically appropriate.
- What treatment feels and sounds like
- The coil produces a repetitive clicking sound during stimulation. Hearing protection is provided during treatment.
- When improvement may begin
- Improvement generally develops gradually across the treatment course. Some patients notice changes after approximately 10–15 sessions, although timing and response vary.
